{"id":427,"date":"2008-04-01T11:18:39","date_gmt":"2008-04-01T18:18:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.andrewandlisa.org\/?p=427"},"modified":"2008-04-01T11:18:39","modified_gmt":"2008-04-01T18:18:39","slug":"liam-is-15-months-old","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.andrewandlisa.org\/?p=427","title":{"rendered":"Liam is 15 months old!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We are so proud of our little 15 month old!\u00c3\u0192\u00e2\u20ac\u0161\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 I&#8217;d like to take just a moment to catalog all he is able to do.<\/p>\n<p>Liam is getting more and more mobile on his two feet.\u00c3\u0192\u00e2\u20ac\u0161\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 These days, he might be found walking from the kitchen into the dining room to find Maggie or his truck.\u00c3\u0192\u00e2\u20ac\u0161\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 He still walks on his knees, but he&#8217;s gaining the confidence he needs to take off on two feet and walk!\u00c3\u0192\u00e2\u20ac\u0161\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 Because he can&#8217;t quite reach the floor as he&#8217;s riding his truck, he will propel himself using one leg.\u00c3\u0192\u00e2\u20ac\u0161\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 The other leg is tucked up under him bum on the seat of the truck.\u00c3\u0192\u00e2\u20ac\u0161\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 What a sight!<\/p>\n<p>He is a climber!\u00c3\u0192\u00e2\u20ac\u0161\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 He tries to climb a lot of objects, but especially likes Maggie.\u00c3\u0192\u00e2\u20ac\u0161\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 He likes to climb on Maggie when she&#8217;s laying down.\u00c3\u0192\u00e2\u20ac\u0161\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 Usually she is pretty patient with him and will let him climb up and over her.\u00c3\u0192\u00e2\u20ac\u0161\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 I&#8217;m thankful she is so good with him.<\/p>\n<p>Language, Language, Language&#8230; Liam has been learning sign language since before he turned one.\u00c3\u0192\u00e2\u20ac\u0161\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 We got a little discouraged because he wasn&#8217;t responding with signs as we continued to use them.\u00c3\u0192\u00e2\u20ac\u0161\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 He&#8217;s using them now and we need to learn more so we can continue to build his vocabulary.\u00c3\u0192\u00e2\u20ac\u0161\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 He knows: Please, Thank You, dog, more, eat, and all done.\u00c3\u0192\u00e2\u20ac\u0161\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 He waves for Hi and Bye and also blows kisses.\u00c3\u0192\u00e2\u20ac\u0161\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 He uses the sound \/bo\/ for bath and bottle.\u00c3\u0192\u00e2\u20ac\u0161\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 When he signs, &#8220;Thank You,&#8221; he also makes a distinct sound.\u00c3\u0192\u00e2\u20ac\u0161\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 He can say &#8220;apple&#8221; and understands a few phrases.\u00c3\u0192\u00e2\u20ac\u0161\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 The chicky says \/bok\/.\u00c3\u0192\u00e2\u20ac\u0161\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 &#8220;Put it in your mouth, Liam,&#8221; and &#8220;Put your head down,&#8221; both solicit the correct behaviors.\u00c3\u0192\u00e2\u20ac\u0161\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 He understands what a truck is and will go to it if asked to.<\/p>\n<p>Liam likes to do a lot of things, but here are just a few that rise to the top of his list.\u00c3\u0192\u00e2\u20ac\u0161\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 He fancies the kitchen cupboard and any drawer he can get open to empty its contents.\u00c3\u0192\u00e2\u20ac\u0161\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 Putting objects in containers can occupy him for quite a long time!\u00c3\u0192\u00e2\u20ac\u0161\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 He is always a happy camper outside.\u00c3\u0192\u00e2\u20ac\u0161\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 If he&#8217;s fussing and is brought outside, the crying stops.\u00c3\u0192\u00e2\u20ac\u0161\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 It&#8217;s amazing, and I&#8217;m sure we will have a lot of fun outside this spring and summer.\u00c3\u0192\u00e2\u20ac\u0161\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 He likes to play in Maggie&#8217;s bowl (water and food) and is willing to help clean up when asked.<\/p>\n<p>Liam is not huge eater, but he will eat almost anything if it is combined with <strong>apples<\/strong>.\u00c3\u0192\u00e2\u20ac\u0161\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 For example: apples and sweet potatoes, apples and pear, apples with chicken, apples with yogurt.\u00c3\u0192\u00e2\u20ac\u0161\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 We will continue to find combinations!\u00c3\u0192\u00e2\u20ac\u0161\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 If you&#8217;d like to pass along your apple combination, please do!<\/p>\n<p>We are so amazed at how much growth happens in such a short amount of time!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We are so proud of our little 15 month old!\u00c3\u0192\u00e2\u20ac\u0161\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 I&#8217;d like to take just a moment to catalog all he is able to do.
