D.C. Monuments Winner!

Washington D.C. Sightseeing game

Washington Day 1 pics
These aren’t all that exciting, but here are the first day pictures. We had a wonderful meal last night at McCormick and Schmick’s with some of the folks from the Fresno Council of Government. It’s a really fun group, and I think they’ll make this a very enjoyable and productive trip.
Today (Sunday), we have an almost entirely free day to do sightseeing. Should be fun!

He’s getting pretty good. When you ask him how hard he rocks, he says, “Pretty hard.”
Children and powerlessness
It just occurred to me that babies and children are constantly in the position of accepting whatever happens to/around them. That works fine in our house, where the adults look after the kids’ best interests. But it sobers and saddens me to think that there are many adults in this world who don’t care as much as we do. I’m going to pray for all children in such situations this morning.
Liam and Clara pictures, coming right up….
Liam is 2 years old and Clara is 7 weeks old. Here’s what they look like:

Clara is now three weeks old. She opens her eyes a lot more these days and holds her head up well. Liam is adjusting well to having a little sister, and loves to say hi to Clara. He sometimes calls her ‘pretty girl’, which he learned from Daddy. He likes to hold her hand.
Liam’s favorite activities:
- Playing the drums (He calls himself ‘nummer boy’)
- Entertaining people. He’ll do anything for a laugh.
- Riding his new scooter. He’s not very fast yet, and we’re thankful for that.
- Playing with little people (whom he calls baby people).
Clara’s favorite activities:
- Pooping
- Grunting
- Eating
- Sleeping
- Pooping (yes, she does it so much that it deserves both spots on this list)
- Laying on her tummy
